Penerapan Strategi Open Ended Learning pada Mata Pelajaran Fisika dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Aktivitas dan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik SMAN 2 Takalar

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan strategi open ended learning yang dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar fisika peserta didik kelas XII SMAN 2 Takalar. Penelitian ini ada dua siklus yang terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi/evaluasi, dan refleksi. Untuk mengumpulkan data tentang hasil belajar peserta didik digunakan tes hasil belajar fisika sebanyak 15 item yang berbentuk Essay test pada pokok bahasan “Gelombang berjalan, gelombang cahaya dan gelombang bunyi” dan untuk data aktivitas belajar peserta didik digunakan lembar observasi. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan analisis kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XII IPA 1 SMAN 2 Takalar sebanyak 32 orang peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada siklus I skor rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik sebesar 63,88 dengan persentase jumlah peserta didik dalam kategori tinggi sebesar 25,00% sedangkan pada siklus II skor rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik sebesar 78,69 dengan persentase jumlah peserta didik dalam kategori tinggi sebesar 81,25%. Untuk hasil penelitian pada aktivitas belajar peserta didik untuk setiap pertemuan dari siklus I mencapai skor 48.96, 49.31%, 52.08%, 45.31%, dan 52.43% dengan rata-rata 49.62% sedangkan untuk siklus II mencapai skor 40.97%, 66.67%, 68.12%, 64.97%, dan 67.36%, dengan rata-rata 61.61%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XII IPA SMAN 2 Takalar dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan strategi open ended learning.

This research is a classroom action research which was aimed to observe about the using of Open Ended Learning Strategy in improving students’ activity and achievement of third grade students of SMAN 2 Takalar. This research consisted of two cycles. Each cycle had four stages; those are planning stages, taking action, observation/evaluation and reflection. In collecting the data about the achievement of the students, the researcher used 15 items of Essay Test about Walking Waves, Light Waves and Sound Waves. Besides, in collecting the data about the activity of the students the researcher used observation sheet. After that, the collected data was analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The subject of the research was 32 students from the third grade students (XII IPA 1) of SMAN 2 Takalar. The result showed that in cycle I the average score of the students achievement was 63.88 with the amount of the students percentage was 25.00%, while in the cycle II the average score of the students achievement was 78.69 with the amount of the students percentage was 81,25%. Meanwhile, the result of the students activity of Cycle I was 48.96%, 49.31%, 52.08%, 45.31% and 52.43% with the average score was 49,62%. Differently, the result of the students activity of Cycle II was 40.97%, 66.67%, 68.12%, 64.12%, 64.97% and 67.36%, with the average score was 61.61%. As the result, the conclusion of this research is Open Ended Learning Strategy can improve students’ activity and achievement.
